Just looking for some new ideas for food I can eat without feeling too guilty :)

Mines pickled onions, aha. It sometimes grosses people out but raw onion soaked in vinegar tastes delicious in my opinion! And only 23 calories per 100g!

So what's your favorite(s)? :)

at the moment... cucumber. :)
not very adventurous i know, but I cut it up into quarters and bite down with the soft corner facing downwards - they remind me of grapes. :)

I personally must have hot chocolate and lite yogurt every day now, each of which are eighty calories "apiece". Cheddar rice cakes are good. And I take oranges, cut them up into bite sized pieces, and eat them with a fork... So one orange literally keeps me almost painfully full for hours at a time, its so weird, I really cant explain it. I just love oranges. (:

dill pickles (or gherkins), grapes, sugar-free jell-o. occasionally fat-free pretzel sticks, although they have a significant amount of sodium... but I also eat half of whatever the serving size is of everything... I dunno, it just makes me feel better lol :)

Pickles! How many calories? Is zero a good number? Yay!

Thanks for the ideas :D

That's and interesting one, alexremix, as much as I want to enjoy cucumber, I just can't :(

I also love oranges, cavities! And hot chocolate! Cadburys have just released these 40 cal sachets of hot chocolate - not the best IMO but still tasty ^_^

I'm planning on getting a few pots of sugar-free jelly next time I go shopping. I've seen some with below 10 cals in the Tesco near me :)

Wow! Mine too! They are the best things ever and remind me of the old me!
I also can't get enough of raw spinach with tomato ketchup or salad with ketchup! AMAZING!
Find an apple helps reduce sugar cravings too or just a little bit of jam.
Stay strong X

miso soup and simply salted microwaveable popcorn (around 100-120 cals for a huge bag) are also favorites.
and i couldn't live without diet cherry dr. pepper and coke zero.

Rice cakes
fat free yoghurts (Danone Vitalinea has 48-50 calories)
cucumbers, celery, tomatoes
Crispbreads
Cup-a-soups (low cal ones. My favourites range from 29-58)
Frozen vegetables :)

I think that's most of mine listed.

Yeah, I used to love eating Walker's pickled onion flavored crisps, I think that's why I love them so much :)

And I'm a huge lover of coke zero and rice cakes :D
Do you ever put anything on rice cakes, icicle? I sometimes have them with jam, but usually just on their own, aha.

I just have them on their own, with tea or whatever. Ages ago I used to put jelly on them, but I tend to prefer to eat separate foods separately, if that makes sense.

I never know what to put on my rice cakes! I can't decide if they should be sweet or savoury. Sometimes I put a slice of low cal cheese on a rice cake and microwave it if I can afford the calories. I love snacking on pink n' whites, they're slices of marshmallow in between two ice cream wafers and are 50 cals each :). Of jaffa cakes at 46 cals each. I love strawberries or raspberries too, I sprinkle them with sweetener :). I eat a lot of crackers too - ~40 cals each. I have a sweet tooth haha :p

I've recently been obsessed with oranges. They take awhile to eat and are quite filling for me. Yummy!

My MOST FAVORITE treat is a recipie taught to me by a former roommate (also a former anorexic):
Buy a container of fat-free whip cream (15 cals per serving). Add in 4 packs of diet hot chocolate mix (25 cals each). Mix together. Tastes JUST LIKE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE and is uber low cal. Also is very filling!

My other favorites? Coke Zero, of course. And Smart Pop Kettle corn. One GIANT bag is 225 cals which isn't nessecarily a low-cal food, but fills me up. It's especially tastey with sugar-free chocolate syrup!

low fat/fat free plain yoghurt and kefir

zucchini makes a great pasta substitute, better than shirataki IMO

my downfall has been soup and egg whites. I assumed the egg whites had at least 70 cals each. Nope. I love soup, totally filling, it just doesn't have enough calories.

When I'm really craving cheese, I have half of those Laughing Cow Cheese wedges. French Onion is my favorite. Half a wedge is ~17.5 calories. Sometimes I'll make a 1/4 cp liquefied egg whites into an omelette type deal and add half of the cheese wedge on it since they spread easily. 30+17.5= 47.5 calories. The .5 drives me nuts though so I just round up to 48. Add water or tea and it makes a nice breakfast when I'm in the mood on the weekends.

Thanks, these are all great ideas, some of which I hadn't considered before. I never realized those marshmallow wafer things had only 50 calories in them, I expected more :O

I'm also never sure what to do with ricecakes, DryBones. I tried putting vinegar on today's one. I don't know if that's normal but it tasted nice :D

I absolutely love sugar free red bull, only 10 cals a can, and honestly I would prefer this any day over coffee. I know that it is not healthy for you as other beverages, water, or juice. but does anyone else drink this? Constantly I am hearing bad things about it, but i think it tastes great, caffeine gives me energy, and the fizziness fills me up.

They're so amazing haha, usually my sweet tooth really lets me down but I can afford to eat them at only 50 cals each :). I tried making a rice cake pizza thing once with a tiny bit of pasta sauce and a slice of low cal cheese then microwaved it. It came out pretty well :)

Great ideas! I had no idea some of these foods had such little calories in them!

The co op near me sell these awesome apple rice cake things! They're actually designed for babys/toddlers I think, but one of them only has 7 calories, so I can eat 7 and it's just <50. And they're delicious! :D

Oh, I love those! 20 cal per thingy.

I usually spread it on a cracker, so it comes to a lovely 47 cal snack (27+20 for me, but whatever lowest-cal crackers you find) =]

Slightly off the point, but my cracker mentioning reminded me of a rant I need to get out of me. I always used to buy these 18-calorie rye crispbreads, I relied on them pretty heavily actually. Then, I finished my packet, and went to my usual shop to get some more. I spent probably 20 minutes looking for them in their usual location, and apparently the decided to change everything but the name. I discovered that they changed the shape of the crackers, and the weight, resulting in a 27 (rye) or 33 (sesame) calorie cracker, instead of the usual 18 & 20 respectively. I'm really upset about this :( I have had to adjust all my meal plans (reducing amounts of allowed food) so that they come to my calorie limits :(
How dare they?! Really.

Not the favourite, maybe, but pretty good :) It's bouillon (in cubes). I drink one cube in 0.5l (2 glasses) of water and it still has really strong taste. Like you're eating soup (or whatever) but it only has 20-30 kcal/cube (depending on taste, kind, etc.) ;)

boiled eggwhites with mustard! what i do is boil 2 to 3 eggs, take out the yoke and cut up the white, put some 0cal mustard on it, and its like egg salad without the fatty yokes or mayonaise! add salt and pepper if desired and its a scrumtous, very filling meal, especially when you have a glass of water before and after.. it just makes the egg whites expand in your belly :D and they're only 16 (or 17) cal per egg white, so when i have 3 thats only like 48cal! have that for 3 meals and you get almost 30grams of protein, no cholesterol, and very little fat for just under 150cal a day :D its amazing!!!

^ Not always, some cereals are pretty high in sugar. But oatmeal is a good choice. :)

My favourite low calorie food: Home made vegetarian pasta sauce.
The one I make at home is just fresh tomatoes, a red capsicum (bell pepper), 3 teaspoons minced garlic, a teaspoon dried basil, a teaspoon olive oil (to cook the garlic so it won't burn), 4 tablespoons tomato paste. I simmer it down for 45 minutes.

Calories are 85 cal per 250g of sauce.
