So today I was watchin tv with my family and I was sitting next to my mom and an ad for that new show "Strange Addictions" and my mom leaned over to me and declared "I don't think it's that different than cutting." she even says "cutting" in a repulsive way. And I was infuriated. she will never understand. No matter how much she things she does it will NEVER HAPPEN!

I'm just so mad right now. Ugh! I wish I never told her. She's done nothing but hurt me more.

i dont know exactly the details. dont even know what commericial your talking about. i could be completely wrong.... again i dont know the situation.

take a breath and try to see things from where she is coming from. communication is key. sometimes people just got a chip on their shoulder. im not helping much with this post.

I know how you feel. My mum has done that type of shit and to make it worse...she did it, with the very thing she took of me and in the exact same place. I know what you mean with the way they say things, you cant explain it to make someone else understand but it just makes you sick how they say it. I just always think to myself .... people dont understand...its not there fault.... but it dosnt matter that they dont because i dont need them and they cant help anyway. I used to rage at my mum (haha used to???? I did the other day) but you just got to breathe and keep in mind they dont know how there making you feel cause they just simply dont understand and never will. You have to become OK with that and just come to terms with the fact that maybe your mum isnt the person to help you with this and just never will be. find an outlet...someone you can talk to that you know does understand...or rite things down maybe??? This site probably helps.
I hope I helped a lil, Goodluck with keeping thoes red numbers OFF your calender...:)

Thanks guys.
This helped a lot. I'm not really mad anymore. I think I'll always be frustrated by my mom though. >sigh< Oh well.

I had similar problems with mine - she used to be a cutter, but still didn't understand. It sucked, big time. Then I moved out of home :) Cos we didn't have too many relationship problems, we're really good now, barely have any troubles with each other. It can happen sometimes :)

I so understand how frustrating it is :( When someone who's meant to comfort you and protect you and care about you does stuff that hurts so much. She's meant to help you, not hurt you! I wonder if she understands how painful it is - sometimes mothers can be a bit blind to things like that.
