I'm seriously losing it.

I desperately need a psychologist.

I'm terrified of asking my dad to pay for it though. Any tips? What if he just freaks out?

:( I really need this though.. I need help.

At this point I think it's worth risking having your dad flip out. If you think you truelly need the help, then you need to reach out to someone.

Good luck!

I agree. Your dad loves you so whatever it costs is still worth less than your life.

Personally, I don't like psychologists. They're (usually) just in it for the money; they tell you textbook things that you can google in 10 seconds and figure out yourself. Plus they're not allowed to give you advice, just coping mechanisms, etc. That's just my opinion. I'm not saying you shouldn't go, because therapy does actually work for some people. If you absolutely must go, then I say ask your father. If he freaks out, just explain to him how depressed and hopeless you're feeling. I'm sure he will understand.

I dont really think its going to help me, but therapy is something that helps if you let it help. There's no point in not trying... I can't tell my dad I'm depressed, thats too difficult considering the nature of our relationship :/ But hopefully he'll say yes

Well good luck with your father and good luck getting help; I'm pretty far from a psychologist but I'll be here to listen if you need someone...

my dad has been (and still is) pretty against therapy. my mom helped me go see a therapist and a psychiatrist. It's true that a therapist won't solve anything but speaking to someone who's willing to listen does make a difference. Real change can only be initiated by you and therapy is supposed to help you realize what you want and how to get back on track. Sometimes therapy works and other times it's a bunch of bologna. I've been through several therapists and only found one helpful so far.
