i have pica. i eat plastic, rubber, sometimes bits of metal, fabrics, all sorts of non food items. would this have any effect on my BED/COE? is this a symptom to a much bigger issue?

Im not sure, but my cousin (who is really more like my sister) had it as a kid. Doctor said at the time it was a completely different disease to other ED, but once her pica went away (when she was around 10) she then started having ANA and BED.. So I reckon it's all part of the same big picture..

I think she's ok now. She looks good.

completely random, but my cat suffers from pica, apparently it was caused by her being weaned from her Mum too early (her mum died at 2 weeks old). So I figure maybe it could be something similar to that in humans, obviously not being weaned from your Mum, but maybe a bad experience with food as a baby or something?

from what i've heard, pica is more like a behavioral disorder and it mainly occurs in kids with learning disabilities? but pregnant women experience pica, and i think binge eating definitely impacts on how picky you are about what you eat.

haha i chew on my sweater sleeve and alot of my cloths sleeves have holes from my chewing , my friends call me a moth!!

they tell me i did have a "mommy seperation crisis" when i was about 4 months old. i dunno i was just wondering if the two were related or if i was just odd. it took a while to realize that it was a condition because my fam and friends just said i was a mindless eater and called me goat! lol! thanks for all your insight! thing is im really picky when it comes to food so......... ive noticed that ive almost eaten through my second teething ring this month so far. something about a toddlers teething ring its all squishy it makes me wanna chew....and chew....and chew....and swallow
