I can't swim

Does anyone know this?
Anytime I stand in water and it goes up to my shoulders.. just the moment it's deep enough..
I can hardly breathe and i won't elt anyone touch me!
Any ideas what this is called?

i dont know the name for it but i kind of suffer from sort of the same thing, i am terrified of going underwater, like takes me about ten mins to calm down and be able to breath again properly if it happens to me! can you get your face wet? i didnt used to be able to but slowly worked up the courage and now can splash water on my face no bother! takes time but totally worth it! can get kind of embarrasing at times to be scared of the water dont you think? try and get someone to hold under your belly and chin when you start out...worked for me!

I think it would fit in with some form of phobia, although I'm not sure of the name. I think a lot of people have this actually, I hear it's meant to be relatively common. So it may be scary but at least you're not alone :)
