Psychotic Depression

Does anyone have any experience of this? Either personally or from a loved one?

My fiance's doctor now suspects he has psychotic depression rather than general depression. He's started hearing whispering which I'm a little worried about.

I don't know much about it so I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share with me. I'm not really sure of the best way to help him through this.

My dad has psychotic depression. There was really nothing anyone could do to help him because of his head injuries. He couldn't get treatment or anything. We basically just had to stay away from him, no talking or leaving our rooms or anything like that. Then again my dads is extremley severe, so the only way we could protect ourselves is by staying away from him even though that just made him more isolated.
