I don't want to be medicated. The only problem is that when I'm having panic attacks I get the intense urge to commit suicide, so she says I need to be on them. I'm afraid her and my parents will force them on me. So for those you you on anxiety meds, can you tell me more about them? Side effects? Physically and mentally? Were they forced on you or did you elect to take them? Have they helped? Would you recommend them to someone with similar problems or do you feel they're a waste of money?

It has helped me. I'm on a lot of medication, but the anti anxiety ones didn't give me any side effects. There are however a lot of different ones and it might take a while to find the right one for you. They weren't forced on me, at the time I was so desperate (not leaving the house/driving, not socialising or communicating) that i readily accepted them.
So yeah, it was good and i would recommend them. As for cost we have the NHS so cost isn't really an issue.
