Summer Scars??

Kia Ora.
I have quite a few scars on my upper arm, there not that big but there pretty deep and really pink!
Where I am its almost summer and I go to the beach quite often, I was wondering if anyone new of any affective ways to get rid of or reduce the apparance of scrars? (a part of me dosnt want to cause i kind of like them, i know thats kind of fucked, but i dont want to get "thoes looks" all summer)
Also if anyone knows if getting a tan over them would make them less or more noticable??

Hey :)

There are a few creams and oils that are meant to reduce the visibility of scars (for example Vitamin E oil, Bio Oil, Mederma) but they have different results for everybody and may or may not work on you, also if they do work then not quickly enough for summer.
Theres also laser scar removal but that is quite expensive and painful and youd have to talk to a dermatologist or so to know if it works on your kind of scars and what they results may be.

Getting a tan usually makes scars more noticable because the area around the scar gets darker but the scar itself stays all shiny white/pink.

I use bio-oil, it takes a while to kick in, but my scars are now completley white thanks to it. Hardly noticeable. Depending on how many scars you have on your arms you could also draw over the top of them with a sharpie and just say you got bored and drew on yourself. That worked for me when I only had a few. :P

I totally understand hun!!! I have massive scars on my upper left thigh that has gotten so many questions by people, it's embarrassing because I like the way they look too... *sigh - I came up with a story that I got caught in barbed wire and it cut up my thigh lol... I couldnt think of anything else - but people believe it, or at least they pretend to in front of me...
