i've recently been into wearing like 4-4.5" heels (i'm reallyyyy short, don't want to be 5'2"!) but i was wondering if i've been burning more calories when i walk around with them. would be so cool if they did :)

hahaha i only wear wedges because they are way easier to wear than those super skinny heels. i guess i'm used to it, i mean if i can walk around in the city all day with them on then i'm pretty sure i can wear them anywhere~! i hopeee i'm burning! burn burn burn calories!

well... appareantly you tighten your musxcles more often like think of it like this if you always wear heels you can feel it in your calfs. so i would say yes they probably do burn more calories, and build more muslce. and more muscle makes your metabolism go up. so yay i am pro-heels. but anti- foot pain :P

I don't think it burns calories, but they do tone your legs and ruin you feet.
I have lived in heels for the best part of 7 years.

So did I, in intermediate/high school. Demonia Platoon were my college favorite.

You have to think if ankle weights help, the extra two pounds of platform under your soles do too.

I'm not sure about burning calories, but they help you get some awesome calf muscles!! So if you wanna get some slim calves, keep wearing them.

lol I'm loving this thread. What's funny is I've been trying to do calf exercise so I can handle heels a bit better, I love how it feels when you start walking in heels and the posture you get.... if you're not falling down lol. But I hate being in pain all night it's not worth it. I'm not sure why people are so scared of muscles you know, it doesn't mean you'll turn into a body builder it just means you'll get more toned. I told someone recently I wanted to buy some weights and they were like "why?? you want to get bulky?" No lol I want to build strength and muscle tone. I don't know that heels will make a noticable amount of difference to be honest but who knows.
