ok, so i really dont care for doing exercises.. for those of you who are addicted to exercise, or just like to work it into your day or have time to, do you really think it does a LOT or really helps with the weight loss process?? just curious, bc i'm not really motivated enough to exercise.. if i find out it helps a LOT to exercise along with restricting/fasting, then ill try to force myself to do it :P lol

for me exercize is more of a mental thing. i dont think about how bad it sucks, makes me sweaty, exhausted, etc
it makes me feel powerful and that im doing the right thing. because of all the f*cked up shit i do, thats one of the right ones lol.
even moderate exercize makes me feel empowered.

Yeah, and it's definitely an important part of the weight loss process. Besides burning more calories while you do it, it will raise your metabolism even afterward, especially if you build more muscle. It's tough for me to get back into it when I stop exercising for a while, but it helps a lot if you can find something that's fun to do. Then you won't feel like exercise is a chore. Even just trying to be more physically active in general is good, like walking/biking to a store instead of driving, doing squats while you brush your teeth or other calisthenics on TV commercial breaks. If you're fasting or restricting a lot, that would be a better option than going into a hardcore workout plan.

Exercise is very important, but like thinaire said, if you're fasting/restricting you shouldn't do much if any on those days. The pounds melt off when I do it, but I also have a lot of weight to lose, and I won't lose it unless I'm exercising. It can be dangerous if done in conjunction with fasting though, and probably won't help that much-your body may actual hold on to what reserves it has because it thinks it's starving and being overtaxed.

The best thing to do is to find something that you enjoy, be it pilates or tennis or just walking outside, so that you don't feel like a rat in a maze. Or say to yourself "I'll do 10 crunches a day" to start off with. That takes less than a minute and gives you a goal you can build off of. For me, running is addictive. I keep a journal and chart my progress. I also do krav maga. Knowing that I have the ability to defend myself is an amazing feeling, and knowing that I'd have a shot at outrunning someone who tried to mess with me is awesome as well. When I started running I couldn't even do a quarter of a mile, but now I'm up to two! Think of exercise as less of a chore and more of something good you're doing for yourself. :]

I didn't use to like exercising, and didn't really look forward to the gym, but I used to just make myself do it and it started to become not so bad. My problem is that I'm so all or nothing about exercise. If I've binged, I feel so crap I literally do no exercise whatsoever. But when I'm restricting, I exercise a lot and just keep getting up to do more because i can't seem to stop.
I really love that feeling after you've done a great workout, though :D And I've just ordered an exercise bike online.
