Hi Cutesy Kiss :)

I'm not sure how much you've been throwing up in total... your message appears that you have not been doing it too much and have a bad experience with it. Are you aiming at just being healthy or not eating at all? The tips will obviously vary from people depending on what you want to do.

In regards to reasons not to binge, my advice is that once you get too used to it. Which if you don't stop will happen. It is incredibly hard to stop. I've been throwing up for about 15 years, sometimes 4-5 times a day. There are so many reasons to not do it. Search for member "fishface" and have a look at the posts from this person, they've listed reasons to stop (though perhaps was not successful) which are very good reasons.

Oh, my number one worst thing with binge / purge bulimia lifestyle is that you never actually ENJOY food, you enjoy the satisfaction in eating it and throwing it up. This process leads to a lot of abdominal pain and swelling. This then turns to a vicious cycle as your tummy is never flat. It's swollen and stretched.

After 15 years of doing this, I now have a larger "higher" abdomenon than the lower part, which makes me feel abnormal in shape. I know that to reduce the size of my gut then I need to stop throwing up. But knowing and doing are as easy as you'd think is it!?

I tend to cycle between sweet foods and salty foods when I binge.

I made up a rule that whenever I get the urge to binge, I have to stop long enough to make a drink a cup of tea. Since tea is hot, it takes awhile to drink it and soemtimes I lose the urge to binge by the time I finish my tea.

Could make yourself drink a lot of water or even chicken broth to fill up the belly real good. Then maybe the urge to binge would be subsided.

I need to try this myself.

Peanut butter is a huge thing for me too since I started binging and purging. I don't know why but I absolutely LOVE peanut butter now. I just started purging and my throat hurts alot too, and i'm getting sores and stuff. I find that its hard to throw up, it's getting easier though, probably cuz i'm doing it more. When I get hungry I usually drink water (I don't drink pop, juice or anything else because theres more calories.) I wouldn't drink really cold water though because it makes your metabolism slower.

You could also try to take up a hobby or something (I know it sounds stupid, but if I don't have anything to do I eat.) You could also jog or exercise whenever you feel the need to binge. Listening to music helps alot. I like to write and draw and I do that a lot when I feel like I need to eat.

If everything else fails I usually just sleep.

When I have the urge to binge I start by drinking a diet soda, or 32 oz tea or something. I have developed enough restraint to go through a Taco Bell drive through for an extra large unsweet tea without buying food. I then drink that whole thing in about one hour. That usually gets me past a binge. If I absolutely have to binge I sometimes will binge on lettuce, lowfat popcorn, or sugar free jello or something so that I don't actually consume more calories. With me it's not about what I binge on, it's about the actually motion of putting food in my mouth, chewing, and swollowing.
