Souris Sourire

Imagine, if you will, that you have an identity. You cannot remember it but you know it exists. You are not your past mistakes, you are not your previous conquests. You simply are. You are being. Whether you have thought, or if your mind is devoid of any idea is unknown. You, however, don't show that you know this. There's a calm. It's the calm that whips your hair through the wind, it is the feeling that settles into your eyes before you fall asleep. It is uncommon, but just like you, it exists. Imagine, please, that it is black. It is dark and there's Nothing. You are Something, and you are in Nothing. But here and now, you're on a cliff. There is nothing other than this cliff; no sky, no clouds, no animals. This, this is the calm.
You're back is toward the edge, and your eyes are sealed closed. You breathe out, and the sound of your breath echoes to the End of Nothing, bouncing back to echo into your Head. It rests there in your Head, the breath stays there, cuddling into a ball. There is a warmth. It's not the glow of the sun, not the sting of fire. It's weightless water, nothing to the touch but heat. It surrounds you and nestles you gently. You don't feel the ground, but it's still there. You're at peace-- adrift and at peace. You're body is light, you feel as if you're not there at all. But you are there. You are being. There's this great sense that you should cry, that this is the final chapter of something, but you don't. You breathe in now with your nose, holding the warmth down your throat, in your lungs, flowing all through your body, carried off by blood. With that small inhale, there is this peculiar scent. It smells like nothing but feels like fluffy spider legs as it tickles its way down your spine. Sunshine; it's the smell of pure sunshine.
You let a force take you, there is no gravity. You lean backwards off the cliff. You open your eyes to see the black swirling around you as you fall. There is no speed determinable by your mind, but you are not going slow. You're traveling by sound, by thought, by touch. You don't hit ground, you don't fly. You simply fall. And although any other time, this situation would seem grim-- any other time, you would be feeling trapped and hopelessly waiting for the ground to smack you... you are not worried. You know that things will be okay somehow, that it's out of your control anyways. You simply rest and enjoy, you simply fall. You just are.
