I would say trying to eat a little more than usual, eating more fibre than usual, or changing your routine a little bit. More exercise always helps!

I'm way too scared to eat more than usual. I know that sometimes it works. From what other people have said. But I really don't get it.

I am new here and a bit scared. However I hope to find answers and maybe someone who understands me. I know! I am now 34 as of yesterday and should be over this weight thing, but it is worse than ever. I had a cupcake yesterday so I worked out for 50 minutes on the cardio machine. Anyone relate to this?

:o I wish I could relate. I'm so lazy when it come to excersice. I would have just purged after eating it. That's my solution to everything. I know what you mean by being 34 and should be over it. I'm 34 also. I know what you're going through:(

i work out any where from four hours to two hours, seven days a week..
the doctor told me to stop working out in the morning, since there wasn't any food in my body to work off..( so now i workout after i ate a meal)..
and i change up the workout, like two days out of the week i walk, two days i do the bike, and stepper and so on..
i hit that plateau hard..and was told to start eatting more and workout less..
to me it was bad advice( cause i gain ten pounds back)..
and feel so much like a failer that its hard to get back on track..

The Holidays kicked my A**!!!!! I've gained 7 pounds and can't seem to get them to go away! I hate my self so much right now. I'm in such a deep depression that I've been drinking way too much. Every day after I get home from work I usually have atleast a bottle of wine by myself. I know that that doesn't help my calorie intake any, but Mia hasn't visited me in awhile. I feel so alone without her. Too many people are watching me too close and I can't get her back. I miss her. Everyone keeps telling me that I look so much better now. All I hear them saying is "ya we can tell you've gained weight" It makes me feel like a big fat pig. I want mia back!!!!! I've never really had a good relationship with ana. For some reason she's harder to deal with than mia.:(

i totally know that you mean, i plateau-ed hard around christmas, but regardless of how scary it sounds, eating a little more will help you lose weight. Even if it's just a couple days a week, it will speed up your metabolism and help you drop the pounds. Also, it you do the same workout routine all the time, change that up, try to do more weights. It will super charge your metalolism. (diet edited per rules) That's the only thing that's kept me from doing it.

Please remember to check out the rules of this site. This is not a place for tips. We all know how to do bad things to ourselves already.

Please let me know if you need some support. Ana and Mia are not a solution. That is how we got here to begin with. Even 600 calories a day is not enough to sustain a body, and restricting will only slow your metabolism. I'm not saying that I don't have the same issues, but I would never want to help you hurt yourself further.

My problem is I will hit a plateau and then I will start eating, like "oh well Im not losing anyhow"...Then I will get this guilt...Like " omg how could you do that to yourself"?...And then I will purge....and for the girls saying they shouldnt have this disease becuz you're 34...Im 44 yrs old...Ive had eating disorders on and off ever since my teens....I started on diet pills...fluid pills...laxatives....and starving....
Now I am anorexic . bulumic....
Society glamorizes a size 2....I was watching entertainment tonight a few days ago and they were talking about Courtney Love and about how great she looks....and I was thinking to myself about how she didnt look "fat" before , just "normal"...and then Reese Witherspoon....They were saying the same thing about her...."Oh look how fabulous Reese looks since dropping the weight"...Why dont they ever say...."She looked so beautiful before"...
It's rididulous....
I will never be a size 2 ..I dont have that body type....But if that's what is acceptable then I'd rather be that size then the size I am....

I have weighed the same amount for 5 weeks. I am so sick of being on the plateau. How do I lose? I have already increased my exercise program.

Also, any ideas on how much, how often to eat so you won't feel hungry? Thank you.

Tessa:)

I have eaten about 1000 calories so far today and feel it is not enough how can you only eat 200 - 400. Your body needs at least 1200 to survive and thats just enough for your body to function normally. If you wnat to loose weight you should be eating more.

plateau is where you stay the same weight for a while after loosing weight reg. I would suggest the zig zag diet.. It seems easy to do. Im gonna give it a try tomorrow as i have hit a dead end and nearly at my goal weight. :-/

About plateauing, i just dont eat anything, so i dont think there is a way for me to plateau.

My advice is to work out a little more.. or just wait it out.
