Hi..
Was just wondering does anyone else go through periods when you have a fave food to binge and purge on?

I went through a period of eating nothing but eggs....which are not the nicest thing coming up afterwards but now seem to be on a lot of cheese...equally not as nice! But i seem to eat the same thing for weeks and then all of a sudden will just change to something different..

I did really crave pizza but can't bring it up that easily....

Just thought i'd ask :)

yeah i definitely do, mine are all junk foods like cheesecake, doughnuts and chocolate things i tend to rotate what i crave. i initially had real trouble purging chocolate but with boiling water it comes up a treat. :)

I always find with chocolate is that no matter what you eat with it or in what order...the chocolate always comes up last..I sometimes do that to make sure that evrything is up!

yeah chocolate can make things confusing but when i binge on chocolate i tend to make sure i eat that and get it back up before eating anything else. I have read that it is useful to use markers to check that you have got everything up but i find i cant really do that when binging on chocolate as it comes up throughout the purge.

Well...

My fave foods to purge are bread and ice cream. Except ice cream tastes real nasty afterwards. I have a huge craving for bread I dont know why. But I dont stuff things in my mouth and purge I take a decent amount. I'm still workin on my problem though.

My fav foods seem to be cereal, hotcross buns/toasted teacakes covered in butter/margarine, cream cakes, chocolate, icecream, etc!! i find that ice cream doesn't leave a nasty taste and is very easy to get back up. but yeh I have same problem with the chocolate! just comes up when it wants. I hope every1 here is trying to recover, I know I am. . but to the post before, start a binge on something healthy to 'line' your stomach, like a base (i always use 2 bowls of cereal! as i often crave this!) this way when I c the cereal coming back up, I know I'm back where I started and all the unhealthy crap is out so I can chill out a little. Or even better, eat some meat and salad first so atleast u will get some gd nutrients etc :)

I LOVE chocolate ice cream. I crave it non stop. that and tortillas for some strange reason but those are extremely hard to get up even if you drink a lot of water and/or soda. I've tried the "marker" thing to make sure I get every thing up. I've tried jello (only 60 cals in a snack pack) but that just came up in the mix with every thing else. I've started eating carrots and hummus before I purge because carrots are BRIGHT orange so it's def a good marker, but then again, I have teh same problem where not everything comes up in reverse order. It's frustrating as heck, but chocolate anything makes purging so much more pleasant. I've also snacked on raspberries and strawberries and the combo of the two coming up tasted just as good as it did going down and (this might sound weird).. it smells amazing when theres this slew of berries and water mush in the toilet bowl. I wish I could find something to compare it to, but I think it's worth giving a try yourself so you can experience it

Cereal, Breakfast cake, and Porridge seem to be my favourite foods to binge or purge. Specially since breakfast cake light only has like 260 kcal per 100 gram, and porridge only has like 90 kcals per 100 ml also. If u have trouble purging up some nastier foods i found that this helps tho. Add 50 grams of Salt in a glass, then add a bit of warm water and stear it a lot. Then drink it all. Should make trowing up really easily. It will hurt like hell tho.

This is actually a bizzare kind of question to put out there and I'm new to this.... I have a few that work and some that dont so here we go:

* lollies like snakes / jellies tend to digest slower and "sink" to the bottom of your stomach, chocolate does a similar thing. This is good as if you're going to binge on many different items then if you get these coming up then your generally at the end of your purge and can be almost sure you have got as much as you're going to get up

* cheese is definitely a gluggy and almost sufficating one to get up, if in fact you've had enough cheese in your binge to make it clump and then you have to brave the tears in it coming up in one big blob. Generally melted cheese is best for this as it's really oily so binds better in your tummy.

* anything like noodles, spaghetti or the like is yuck to purge as quite often I find they are still long strings and I can feel them getting stuck in my throat and sometimes have to put my fingers back as far as possible and literally pull them out. YUCK.

* Milk binds to little lumps in your tummy, so again it's easier to throw up than soda, so better with a binge. I find it also helps with the acidity - icecream works too.

* Chocolate though I said it's good in point 1 - it is slimely, so you need to keep going for a few more purges to be absolutely sure you get it all... it slides down too easy but doesn't come up as easy.

* bread is a good one, in particular cheese and bread as it generally stays lumpy

All in all... the sooner you do it with any food the better. I too hate throwing up Pizza as it's chunky and I tend to eat too much of it when I eat it so it flares up my glands and gives me a sore throat as the bread, cheese, and all the toppings seem to come up at once.

THe other things with salty drinks like sodas is they will make bloating worst as you retain fluid from all the sodium in the drinks.

Due to the bloating I'm trying to stop. I've been doing this for 15 years and I can only imagine how wrecked my insides are... but I have no idea how successful I'm going to be. I know my triggers but my mind doesn't seem to recognise them as quickly as my hands grab hold of food and it's in my stomach. Especially when I'm home alone.... fingers crossed!

But I had spaghetti tonight... so off to the bathroom I go.

Cereal and milk would be a favorite, because it's easy to bring back up. But I tend to go back and forth within my binge session between sweet and salty.

Lately I've been taking a bowl of sugar and adding a bit of cream or milk to make an icing, then eating an entire pack of grahmn crackers dipped in it. Then I'll take tortilla chips and melt cheese on top and eat that all up. Then maybe cereal and milk, then something salty again. This goes on until my tummy can hold no more; then I purge.

i usually binge on chocolate. EVERYTHING with chocolate in it. especially milk chocolate with caramel filling. Also icecream is my weakness. Sometimes i just stop at different stores for ice creams. Man i love them.

;)Basically anything I have at home, sometimes I go out and extra buy things for the night, like sandwhiches, burritos, and if I get two meals at one place I always get two drinks bc I feel sooo utterly embarrassed that someone could know...otherwise the things everyone else mentioned, especially icecream and cake and cereal. sometimes I also eat salad inbetween, or best, first, just bc I like it...and I also love pasta...since I am really trying to get better I found myself throwing binge food away after three BP attacks yesterday...

I do that as well with the whole two meals and two drinks thing!! I've been to subway before and bought two foot long sandwiches and then complained to the staff about how my housemates always send me on the food run (ahem) even though i'll eat one on the way home before i scoff the second and purge the lot.
i'm on a big stir fry binge at the moment...lots of noodles and spices (i like the burn) and it is so easy to bring back up...
wish i could stop but everytime i go to have a normal sized meal it just escalates into me eating everything i can get my hands on....and the Tuesday buy one get one free at Dominos pizza doesn't exactly help :(

An hour or two before I purge I line my stomach with sliced cucumber and then pick up anything in the house really, i find spaghetti the easiest to throw up though. I just make sure I jug a load of water down before and that makes it pretty easy and once the cucumber comes up you know you’re nearly done. :)

I eat waffles smothered in syrup and any microwaveable things like hot pockets and toaster stroodles. Another big one for me is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or three!

And ICE CREAM of course :))

ice cream!
cake
pasta
fish
veggies
cereal and milk
jello/pudding/yogurt

foods that are hard to purge
mini wheats!!! i had the most difficult time with these biatches... they stayed in a large, scratchy clump in my throat and i couldn't breathe. couldn't swallow it down or get it up.. stayed in my throat til the next day. =[
oatmeal cookies --also tend to clump up
cheese --just sticks to your insides and won't budge
bread - unless u drink a ton of water
candy - ur body dissolves it too easily and all u end up purging is the acid from it.

The easiest thing I've ever purged.. and my favorite were smores with marshmallow, Hershey's chocolate, and graham cracker. Along with a lot of peeps & oreos, it tasted good coming back up and it just slid right back up my throat, in large clumpfuls, thanks to the marshmallow or something.

...I've never purged ice-cream, though.

I already replied my fav things somewhere else in this thread, but I thought I'd just add...
I purged on a McDonalds Mint Areo McFlurry last week...
was the BEST tasting thing ever when purging it. Tasted exactly the same coming back up! Like I was eating it again! Twice the pleasure of the binge. LOL. xx

EDIT: woah my original post in this thread was from June 2009!! :-O and I still do the cereal/plain salad thing to this day!! It's all about lining the stomach/having a base! :-P xx

Like the very first person said, i go through phases of different things.. a couple of years ago it was always chocolate or cakes, then it was cereal, then onion rings, toasted ham sandwiches, most recently past food and crisps... I usually try to start with something healthy like bran flakes or veggies but that usually only works when im at home! If im eating a meal i ALWAYS eat the veg first. I find chocolates really easy to purge, but i dont like the "second taste" of it, leaves me with a kind of sickish feeling. Savoury stuff like pasta, casseroles, veg, that sort of thing, really does taste the same on the way up and i dont feel like im leaving as much behind as with sugery stuff. The only things i really dont like purging are anything acidic, like sweets, fruit and alcohol.

Well I like to binge on carbs... fries, bread, pasta, pizza, yum yum yum.

But favorite thing to binge and then purge is ice cream just because it's so easy and tastes almost good the second time lol.

I have trouble purging things like Pizza or bread unless I drink a TON of water with it when I'm binging, but sometimes it's hard to remember to drink lots of water in the middle of a binge. Cheese doesn't give me any problems. I love purging Macaroni and Cheese! Pasta in general, as long as it is penne or macaroni...I'm sure that long noodles would freak me out because they'd be halfway in/out of my mouth, haha. I tried to purge rice the other day and I just couldn't do it! It stayed as a huge lump in my stomach. Same with couscous, oddly enough--I could only get a small amount up.

As for things I like to purge...Fruit smoothies, ice cream, candy bars, macaroni and cheese, cheesecake, I also love purging Pho if any of you girls have had that....as long as I chew up the noodles really small and don't eat any large pieces of tofu or broccoli with it :) Also oatmeal with tons of brown sugar. That's another good one!

Pretty much ice cream or cake are easiest for me to purge. However, I can purge meat pretty well too, isn't that weird? (before I become a vegetarian). Bread is a pain in the BUTT to purge and chocolate tastes absolutely disgusting coming up, ew :/ LOL

Mostly binge and purge chocolate though because it comes up really well.

Icecream (nice and soft and cold when it comes up), cake (my favorite), cookies, chocolate, pizza, mc D, hotdogs (also taste good on the way up).
I HATE purging gummybears and candy/sweets and popcorn.

I can purge anything, as long as I drink LOTS of diet coke with it!

cheesecake and ice-cream come up really easy so those are always favorites! any kind of cake s good for me really, just not brownies (those are hard), i do pizza a lot, or sandwiches (they're easy for me if i drink enough or just load them up with fillings so it's not all bread), and all types of mexican food are big binge foods for me too, but the spicy-ness can be panful when i purge it. so it's nice going down, but no so nice on the way back up :[ what else? i used to binge on chips/crisps a lot. with a lot of water they come up nice, and milkshakes lol. those come up easyyyy x

Peanut butter! Straight up peanut butter or anything made with it. Cookies, sandwiches, reeses, etc. Ice cream too but that goes without saying. Cheese is one of my favorites but it scores high in the disgusting category. Especially cottage cheese eTo view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I went through a period where I would eat a whole tub and purge those nasty large curds.

I am reading this in total shock. I have never in my life been able to get up chocolate, in any form, EVER! No bars, no candy bars, no Reese's, Snickers... NOTHING! It becomes this black sludge of hate in the bottom of my stomach that REFUSES to come up unless I try so hard that I nearly explode. I can get some of the sludge up but that's only if I rinse my stomach with water. It's so unfair :(

Easiest things for me to bring up are rice (which is good because we tend to have a decent amount of it),pasta especially if it has a sauce, pizza, and chips..especially the sour cream and cheddar ridge ones.
I really hate it when things come up too liquidy.Scratchy, chunky,or crunchy I can deal with, liquid I can not. :/

Well, chocolate puddings, chocolate ice cream, banana splits and nutella all taste amazing on the way down and on the way up :) Although with nutella you have to make sure you drink with it or it will be all thick and gloopy... eck! Also I find that drinking loads of fizzy water just before I purge helps a ton. Lots of people say oreos are good but I have never tried purging them although I want too because they are soooo good :3

MY old time favourites are ice cream, cheese and ham toasties, pizza, chinese food, KFC anything gloopy/greasy really. But I can pretty much get anything up if I drink enough soda.

this is odd that we are talking about what we like to b/p on lol but I will add to it....I am a big chocolate, biscuits, cakes, crumpets, peanut butter, bread not so much take out more the sweet stuff and I often use icecream to help me get all the other things up. I used to have issues getting chocolate up and was pissed coz it is my fave thing in the world lol but now no problem

Becky_148
05-24-2011, 09:46 AM
Ooooh well... ice cream, cheese loaded toasties, chocolate (although I hate the taste of it the second time round, ugh and the texture of cake is vile) doughnuts - jam or ring, yummmmm, pizza, anything doughy that comes up in lumps, I sort of like the feeling ... very odd! Branflakes are the only cereal I binge on, roasted veggies, pasta although the sauce burns a bit, shudder. Biscuits of course, apple pie or crumble, and I normally begin and end a binge with an apple! e shower floor

I am not a water drinker, it takes to long and I hate the feel, I prefer being able to identify exactly what is on the shower floor.

I only normally purge until dry gagging once a day though, the others are pretty inificient, more just so I can poke my stomach without it being like a rock!

Okay the whole of my reply is pretty tmi...

Contrary to what people say I find bread is the best carb to purge. Although they do come up in clumps that sometimes hurt, I feel with bread you KNOW when you've purged it all up because no more clumps come up. With things like noodles or rice I get paranoid that there are still a few grain or noodles in my stomach that I haven't thrown up. More specifically though my favourite foods to throw up are salad, soup, a sauce based main course dish like bolognese sauce, jam doughnuts, pie, a light bread dessert, and topping it all off with a tub of ice cream. Pints of milk are drunk with. Foods that I just cannot get back up are sticky cakes, anything chocolatey (chocolate bars, syrup), and anything dense like fudge.

DEFINATELY ice cream! Its the best to eat at the end of my binges because it sort of numbs my throat in a way so that the whole purge isn't as painful. Also, it is still cold when it comes back up and it doesn't taste as bad as other foods I binge. It's still sweet lol. Oh and for some realson watermelon, creamy peanutbutter, and milk (even with cereal) come up easy and not as painful. The WORST foods for me to purge is anything with sauce or alot of oil! Ah it gives me acid reflux and it burns the hell out of my throat! Also, I hate binging on bread because no matter how much water i drink its the hardest thing for me to get back up.. its horrible.

Even though pizza is my major binge food, it is ridiculously difficult to get it up :( Ice-cream and cupcakes are my favorite things to binge. They taste so good going in AND coming up, it's like eating it twice. Soup is also super easy to get up, so is mac and cheese.

I usually binge on cereal, breads, and ice cream. I've been on this poptart kick lately, though. You HAVE to eat them with diet coke or they are impossible to get up. They're so dry otherwise it's like they stick in my stomach. My "favorite" cereal to purge is shredded wheat. I like anything that comes out a bunch at a time. Like other girls said, I don't like purging chocolate because I can never really tell when it's all gone. I'll be dry heaving and just getting tiny bits of chocolate and I can't tell at all....
PhoebeC: I love noodles too!! Especially with alfredo sauce. And they are really easy to get up.

I'm usually afraid to binge on to many high calorie foods in fear they may not come up.... But my usually binges consist of

Cereal and milk always....
Peanuts. They come out chunky and taste good!
Grapes as they make it easier for me to purge other things as well
Ice cream of course
Scrambled egg whites with mushrooms
Popcorn.... I always b/p on this.
But I air pop it and spray it with water and put splenda and cinnamon on it. Comes out chunky but not so bad as I usually know when I'm done

Recently I've started purging Graham crackers and milk!

I have the hardest time purging chocolate. So I stay away from it

I've never had the courage to binge on sweets like cake or pastries or bread. To many calories if they get absorbed. :-/

ice cream, as everyone else has said
porridge

rice (doesn't taste of much, but comes up so easily)
