I have never fasted before, and I have never gone a day without eating SOMETHING. How do you all do it? It seems extremely hard to do. I tried to today but I ended up breaking it at dinner time. Gosh, I felt so guilty after that, and I would really like to try again. It was a really great feeling, like I was in control of my body. I just wish I could do it longer... help me here!! Also I was drinking a lot of water so I don't need anyone to tell me to drink more water... I was drinking plenty, (Trust me)

Try keeping yourself busy. ;)

If I am fasting, I try to plan out what I will do at the times I would usually eat (evenings). I do something that is hard to eat through, like paint my nails or go to the park or something, then go straight to bed. It's hard for me to fall asleep, but once I'm already in bed it's easier for me to not eat, LOL!

Lie in bed, soak in the tub. My best advice is to get comfortable! That way you can't be bothered to get up to get food :D

I agree with Joel, and in order to suppress hunger, you can drink diet coke, or coffee or tea ;) good luck!

Brush your teeth, it'll make you want to eat less. Also, lie in bed, or read, anything to distract yourself. A bath helps me too. Also, if you are only fasting for one day, promise yourself a low-cal food the next day. The thought of having something the next day helps you. Also, when you feel like you are about to give up, give yourself 30 min, and distract yourself. good luck!

I just keep drinking coffee but I don't eat nothing. I have to eat a piece of meat and a bread or else my doc will get upset.

I'm sorry guys, but WHAT THE HECK?!

We don't give tips on this site. This person has posted four posts (no offense) and has never fasted before. We're not supposed to help them... :/

Sleeping is also a good way to make the time go past lol. Altho, thats impossible if ur also taking any form of caffeine or anything on that day.

Sleep. Distract yourself. Chew gum. Play an addictive game lol.
Take a bath. Go for a walk. Dance! Next day eat something low cal.
Thing that helps me the most is to drink lots of water,
diet soda and chew lots of gum. Hope this helps! Good Luck! :D

Tea! It's warm, so it calms your stomach.

I really wouldn't suggest fasting, so please be careful. But if I ate enough the day before and I don't feel faint, I exercise, or I go somewhere like the park, someplace far away from food, and I just don't bring any money with me so that i can't buy anything. Also gum helps, or if I really feel like I might break I only allow myself a few green vegetables.

Interesting how everyone just seemed to ignore that and post tips anyway... :P :) Also, is it just me, or are there a LOT of people posting asking for tips, etc? I think I saw a thread that had nothing but about 4 of those people together giving each other stupid tips... :P

See, it's interesting that people say chewing gum, because that actually makes things WORSE for me!

Also, I find it really hard to fast too, so you're not alone, don't feel bad.

& take care of yourself.

I know what you mean. And it seems they've ignored your post and are still continuing to post tips. Goodness gracious people, read the TOS

We're not suppost to give people tips. Its a good thing if someone doesn't fast. Hell, it'd be a good thing if we all didn't fast (or B/P or BED or COE or SI) but we do.
All I'm trying to say is:
We shouldn't be helping someone harm themselves.

How come we can't give tips about hiding behaviors but we can give tips on how to make said behaviors occur?

Giving tips on how to fast for weight-loss reasons really makes me uncomfortable. If you are anorexic you starve not through choice, but through illness. Asking how to starve, to me, is on par with asking how to be anorexic. It's not something you chose to do.
