Hi,
Not been here for a while as things had been getting better, or so I thought.
I suffer more with anorexia than bulimia, but on the whole, as long as I stick rigidly to my eating regime I'm ok, and can cope.
Lately however, I find I am feeling hunger more than usual, and have therefore slipped more into my bulimia state.
I know I shouldn't ask for help with purging, and dont advacate it, it's just I am struggling with hiding my purging when out. I am ok when I am at home (I live alone), but if I slip, and eat more than I am comfortable with when I am out, I have real problems hiding the fact I have purged. My eyes run terribly, and my make up gets all messed up.
I just wondered if anyone else has this problem, and how you deal with it.
I know purging is bad, but it's the only way I can relieve myself of those terrible feelings, of knowing I've lost control.

hello and welcome to you!

in the threads in the bulimia section, there are loads of tipps on purging positions and methods to make it easier. nevertheless, purging with others "around" really is harder because you cant take your time with it and you have to clean up immediately afterwards. my first proposal would be to stop purging in public places like restaurants when youre out with others. its hard not to let them notice. i find it quite easy to restrict myself when im going out, because i can always tell myself i will binge and purge at home so i only postpone the eating thing. eat a salad when youre out, save the more "dangerous" things for later.
if you absolutely cant stop yourself, tell people youre wearing contact lenses and they make your eyes hurt. essential things to carry around are handcream and chewing gum (to combat the smell). but dont overdo it, if you stay in the toilet for too long, people will get real suspicious.
