Hey all. I'm new here and, being fresh meat, I thought I'd post some of my favorites, circulate ideas. Don't be shy to critique my choices; I pay attention to mainly calories, so I'm sure some of you have a more balanced perspective on some of this stuff.

Plain microwave popcorn: Put plain popcorn kernels in a paper lunch sack, fold closed, and microwave on high until popping slows. (Popping should start around 1.5 or 2 minutes.) I love this because it's very easy, nothing is added, and you get the authentic home-popped taste. Vegetable oil can be added for taste; (adds calories of course) just pour it in the bag and shake before popping. It does tend to soak through the bag if you use more than a tiny amount, so be careful with the bag afterward. Oil-popped does taste good but I prefer to just add salt for flavor.
1 cup (popped, nothing added) is 30 cals.

Strawberries! Sweet and filling.
1 cup halved strawberries is 50 cals.

Yoplait Light yogurt. If I had to restrict to just one thing, this would be it. Yoplait is the brand with the commercials advertising yogurt flavored like pies and cakes; most of those particular flavors actually taste worse and are 10cals more. But the regular fruit flavors are quite good. My favorites are strawberry banana if I'm craving a fruity taste and key lime pie (the only pie/cake one that's good, imho, and for some reason the extra 10cal is not tacked onto this one) for a more dessert-like flavor.
1 carton yogurt is 100 cals.

Soup of all kinds is awesome. I like the Campbells "soup at hand" variety lately. I'm afraid it's not much nutritionally, since it's mostly broth. Which is probably why I love 'em-- as far as my tastebuds are concerned the point of soup is broth and all that other stuff is an excuse to drink a chicken-flavored drink. :D But being soup of course it's hot and satisfying.
Chicken and stars flavor is 70 calories.

Wheat chex. This is one of those weird bland foods that at first tastes like cardboard to me and just keeps getting tastier and tastier the more I eat. It feels substantial in the stomach and packs a lot of vitamins, iron, and fiber.
1/2 cup is 107 calories.

nice!

i agree with the living on yogurt comment. although i stick to the balkan style yogurt (gelatin free), i could live off that mixed with frozen fruit (blueberrys/raspberries/strawberrys) or vegetables (cucumber/carrots usually. adding some nuts like soy beans, walnuts, almonds is good too).

soup is always a close friend. :P my fave is knorr's tuscan bean soup. delicious when halved with some veggie soup stock. and lower in cals too (110 normal, 50 when mixed).
