I want to do this cleanse that my mom does on a regular basis. It's part of a weight loss system called Isagenix and its supposed to be really good for you by riding you of toxins, balancing your body out, and it helps you lose weight of course. One problem, its a specific drink that you take along with a flushing pill (gentle laxative). But the drink has about 40 calories per serving which comes out to (160 cals a day) and then there are these "snacks" (wafer things) that are supposed to provide your body with appetite suppressants and protein that will allow you to maintain what you lost but those come out to 75 cals. That comes out to 235 calories a day. I feel like that's a lot for a cleanse. just trying to see what you guys think or if you have any other recommendations for cleansing. Thanks!

Well 235 a day isn't that bad for a WHOLE DAY but is a bit higher than other cleansing things I've seen.
But if you do it for like a week that 1645 cals over the week which is basically what most people would eat in a day! So when you thoink about it like that you're def gonna lose no matter how many cals it has

If you find that complying to an externally set system is good for your willpower and keeps you restricting, then no, I don't think 235 calories is going to do your weight loss any harm. However, you should bear in mind that 'detoxification' in this context is purely a marketing concept, not a scientific one. Sense About Science have some good pamphlets on the topic:
