I am taking about getting this prescribed, not illegally. Does it really decrease your appetite?

I'm ashamed to say that I have recently started taking Adderall to help curb my appetite (I have a history of drug... specifically stimulant... abuse). One of the side effects of Adderall is that it decreases appetite and while I do notice that I'm not hungry (even sometimes I get that growl in my stomach... you know the one that comes from the bottom of your stomach and makes food seem gross?), for me the appetite suppression wears off prob 8 hours later. But be warned, it IS a stimulant so it makes my heart race, makes me grind my jaw a bit, and makes me SUPER shaky.

As a side note, do you have ADD? Because if you do, you'll prob experience the appetite suppression but it has the opposite effect on people with ADD as it does with others. While it to me its speedy, for people with ADD it brings them down to a normal level and helps them to concentrate.

Good luck :) XOXO- M

I have a friend with really bad ADD (Like, diagnosied ADD, not self proclaimed)
And he has to take adderall. I told him I really wanted to try adderall to see what it'd do to me. So he gave me just one and I took it and it did nothing. Maybe that's because it was only once and you need to take them repeatedly for an affect, I don't know.

But that's my experiance with adderall.

As someone with milddddd ADD I have taken adderall and let me tell you it really does work, not only did i go all day without eating one thing i accomplished so much more, like if i went to work out i stuck to working out and ending up burning like 600 cals in an hour. At the end of the day I'd eat like a veggie burger patty (90 cals) and i lost weight soooo quickly. adderall is great

i'm not prescribed adderall, but i take it whenever i can get it and it really does suppress my appetite. maybe that's because i crush it and snort it though? that makes it work a lot faster, but swallowing it should still help you not feel as hungry. whenever i'm on it i take in the morning around 11, and i go through the whole day without even thinking about food. then i usually realize i haven't eaten anything around 8 and i have a little snack, like a 60c yogurt or something and that's all. there's no desire to binge at all when i'm on it. concerta's good too for that lol xo

Since I'm in University, I take addy all time (judge me later, haha), and it gives me virtually no apetite. I can go an entire day and have no desire to eat.

I laughed when I read that, because I do the exact same thing.

the one and only reason it did not work for you is most likely he had 10mg pills, either that, or you have a naturally higher tolerance. I have been taking adderal for about three years now (funny the psychologist didn't link my ana/mia to my "all of the sudden ADD" haha), and it has worked as an appetite suppressant since day one till now. Only thing is, it has always took me at least 30mg to feel anything. It helps with my slight ADD, curbs my appetite (COMPLETELY, as in, I never feel hunger if I take it all day), and it speeds me up and gives me energy. Greatest prescription in the world, although, if you think about it, its an amphetamine, basically a "healthier", white collar version of coke. Good luck (: I highly recommend it

It curbs my appetite somewhat.

I actually have add and take the time release version (otherwise i would forget to take it every four hours..lol)

It calms me down a lot and I don't feel jittery at all but that is what it is supposed to do if you have add.

lol me too! It works really well. I sometimes borrow from my roomie. I dont even notice that I havent eaten until the end of the day when I consult Fearless Leader (my scale) and I've lost more than usual! That said, (and I'm NOT encouraging by any means) cocaine has by far worked the best for weightloss for me. You drop the weight fast without feeling tired and shit. You're happy and alert and you actually feel ok about yourself. but I'm NOT encourage use. Just sayin.

haha actually it's more like meth. I think ritalin is the one that is more like coke.

I love adderall. It gives me tons and tons of energy (which I love) so it makes me want to do things like run around and jump but it also kind of makes me feel sick. So I'm burning calories and not taking in any! (:
Cocaine is also good too but sadly I don't feel that it suppresses my appetite that significantly.
