Hi ladies I’m considering going vegan (I’ve been veggie for 5 years), I’m doing this mainly for ana reasons but it’s also because I’ve always felt like a bit of a cheat having milk all these years. It’s a good excuse to cut it out as well as yogurt, butter and cheese etch. I was wondering if there are any other vegan anas out there and if u could give me some advice on what’s the best way to go about this, just go cold turkey or phase dairy out slowly. I’ll welcome all input here. Right now all I can think about is how ill manage without my bran flakes and milk!

Hi, I've been trying to be vegan for some time. I'm not ana, though. I'm bulimic. I eat vegan except when I binge/purge, when I just lose all control. It makes me feel really sucky, because I have ethical problems with non-vegan foods.

I think soymilk tastes really good with cereal, even the mediocre ones. Some brands of soymilk/nutmilk/rice milk taste great on their own, others... not so much. If you look for the ones with lowest calories per serving, they probably won't be great on their own, but good for cereal. I like Almond Breeze original almond milk (60 calories per cup).

I'm not sure, but I think going cold turkey is good. If you give yourself time, you won't desire dairy so much. I used to love cheese so much and drink milk all the time and love ice cream. Since I haven't eaten so much of those things the past few years, I really don't like them. It's weird.

Hello =)

Being a vegan is great! I'm one and have been for almost 1 and a half year now. Before I became a vegan I was a vegetarian.
I just can't make myself eat another life or a part of a life that's still living. =)
I hope that you will find many good thing about being a vegan like I have.

thanks girls, I've made the decision, am absolutely gona do this and im really looking forward to my new challenge. I've been searching for something to stop my bran flake habit and now i have the perfect excuse. i know some things will be hard to give up (extra light butter on crumpets) but in all honesty its foods i shouldn't be eating anyway so its no big loss. i tried the whole soy milk thing years ago when i first became vegetarian but couldn't stand the taste, i guess ill just have to make do with water and fruit juices.
